In the previous post I congratulated our Grand Prize Winner, Blake Shields. I also reviewed the criteria used for scoring the entries —an unenviable job for me!
Our next winner is Laura Sharkey:
Laura’s entry ran the board in terms of being absolutely clear about her demographic, creating a really explicit story about her own personal journey and how it relates to what she offers, giving us an appropriate sense of her authentic vulnerability —her humanity, sharing insight into the fears she is working through*, and spreading the YTGS word by tagging many friends. All of this worked to overcome what is not a very strong photo (though it is nice enough, warm and kind. I love the open, natural feeling —but is that Swingers?! 🙂 ) giving Laura a very high winning score
* A quick note: although this “overcoming fear” category is part of the contest, it is not necessarily part of your Bio/About Me page on your website! You might include some key aspect of it that feels right, but not go into the kind of detail that we are sharing here as part of the YTGS work.
In any event, big congratulations to you, Laura! Please let me know your choice of prizes and we’ll get you started toward reaching your goals as a private yoga teacher!
